Blood in the Sand – Final Master
by admin on Aug.14, 2009, under Music
Ok, so I got the T-Racks 3 plugins today, and finally finished the master on this. I had been waiting to re-record the vocals, but with a couple nice compressors and an EQ, it actually settled in quite well. I feel finished with it, what do you think?

Very cool, man…your voice still blows me away…I definitely hear your Megadeth influence. Trippy breakdown at 2:25 too…

Thanks
I really should re-record the vocals, I got a nice mic preamp and have yet to do anything with it. This is recorded on a Rode NT1-A straight into the audio interface, since I have gotten a Shure SM7-B (same mic Hetfield uses) and a Focusrite Voicemaster Platinum Pro Preamp and Channel Strip, it sounds amazing, I might just have to re-record this weekend.

Very cool Jason! If you don’t mind me asking, which T-Rack plugins did you use on the vocals?

If I remember correctly, I ran through the vintage compressor 670 first for a little smoothing, then through the Opto compressor to bring the levels up. Then EQ’d it with the Vintage Program EQ. I was lazy, since I recorded this vocal (with a Rode NT1A) I purchased a Shure SM7B that matches my voice quite a bit better, and a Focusright VoiceMaster Pro channel strip, with the stronger, cleaner pre, I need to redo this line and see how much difference it makes.
